Angels are believed to be the heaven’s heralds and they are intermediaries between God and a human. They are also thought to be the envoys of our subconsciousness, whose aim is to direct our life, advise and give important tips.
Appearing in a dream, angels usually send some kind of message. They assume various forms – sometimes they look like our deceased friends or they resemble the angels we know of the famous works of art (e.g. paintings), but at times, they may also have a form of different creatures or religious symbols. Very often, dreams about angels leave such a strong impression on the dreamer, that he takes seriously what the heaven’s herald told him.
How to interpret dreams about Angels?
As a general rule, angel dreams cause the dreamer to be unusually touched when waking up. It has no meaning whether he treats the angel as an authentic heaven’s herald or just a strong, positive metaphor.
According to the folk interpretation, dreams about angels are a sign of upcoming happiness, love and stabilization. Angels bring trust and hope, and, as the mediums, can cause change in the dreamer’s psyche.
If the dream about an angel sending us an important message appears more often, it is worth analyzing its meaning deeper. The powers of heaven or our inside have made a great effort to tell us something we should not miss or ignore under no circumstances.
The Freud’s Angel dream interpretation
Freud was an atheist and he believed that all the religions are an illusion and cultural neurosis, which come of our childhood or a primitive sense of guilt caused by the Oedipus complex. As a result, he interpreted all heaven’s heralds appearing in people’s dreams in this context and he never assigned an extraordinary powers or meaning to it.
The Jung’s Angel dream interpretation
Jung, as opposed to his great master, was a deep believer. In his opinion, religion make communication with archetypes and the collective unconsciousness easier, however, it can get in the way of psychical development. The present-day psychoanalysts representing Jung’s school claim that, most of all, angels appearing in our dreams emphasize the spiritual aspects of our psyche.
